As the McGhee Tyson Airport project took off in April of 2001, we could never have imagined how our country would change over the next 15 months. The events of September 11th forever changed our hearts, our lives, not to mention the way airport security and construction projects would be handled. As if security were not heightened enough, a visit from the President of our great nation, George W. Bush, only served to add to the excitement of our project. Combining all of that with the coordination of the schedules of several crews and a number of subcontractors, needless to say, made this project a challenge like none other that I have ever been blessed to be a part of.
